Right! Trick or treating! Sounds more fun than my howl related humiliation.
[Scott imitating Derek is obscenely adorable. An idea hits Stiles and he suddenly dashes out in front of the three of them in a flail of limbs, standing a good distance away from Derek and the boys, then stuffing his hands in his pockets, his expression going solemn.]
[Isaac frowns when Stiles suggests a toll, exchanging a look with Scott and stepping to Derek's opposite side. He crosses his arms too, cocking his hip just slightly to the side.
(He's not taking your shit, silly Stilinski.)
He sucks his teeth a little, raising one brow too.]
[ Eyebrow remaining raised, he stands there in silence for a couple minutes. Because he knows the various ways that this picture can turn out, and isn't quite sure Stiles does. But he'll find out soon enough what happens to most people when they try to take a werewolf's picture.
Sighing heavily, he tips his head to the side as he regards Stiles. ]
You're ridiculous.
[ But he doesn't argue against him taking the picture, so there's that. ]
[Isaac, too, knows exactly what will happen the minute he tries to take this picture- so, smugly, he takes one of Derek's hands and rests the other on his hip.]
A picture'll be easy. You could have just said so.
[He makes an offended face at Scott, taking out his camera and holding up to get a picture.]
I'm hilarious. [Rude. Super rude, Derek. He's going to hold that against you. Muttering to himself a little, he snaps the picture, the flash going off, then pulls it back to examine it.
Aaand naturally, it looks like there are three sets of lasers staring into his phone's camera. Stiles grumbles a werewolves under his breath, and scurries past them, flicking on the porch light in a flurry of movement before coming back.]
You guys would make this a pain in the a--butt. Werewolves don't take pictures. Noted. Now shut up and smile. [Grinning a little, he flicks off the flash and tries again.
Now Scott, that's just not true. I think Stiles is hilarious.
[ That gets the three of them a fangy smirk as he takes his sons' hands and looks towards the camera. The smirk stays through the first attempt Stiles makes at getting a picture, and then he actually laughs when he goes running for the porch. It's not overly loud, but it's still a laugh.
It fades when the second picture is taken, as does the smirk, but he'll make up for that shortly.
Picture taken, he releases Scott and Isaac's hands and makes his way over towards Stiles to pluck the phone from his grasp. ]
I'm enacting my own toll, now. Go stand with the boys.
[Isaac is quiet through the first picture, laughing along with his dad when Stiles goes to run, but seems surprised when Derek goes to take the phone from him. Still, he gives a little smirk.]
So is Stiles honorary second dad tonight?
[Oh, as if he doesn't get the implications behind that. Isaac grabs Stiles's hand immediately anyway, leaning over to grin at Scott for a few seconds before turning his gaze back to Derek.]
Come on, Isaac, Stiles is always honorary second dad. Except when he's honorary kid.
[He grins so wide it almost seems too big for his face, squeezing Stiles's other hand and bouncing on his toes a little so his wings flutter a little. Scott's just as excited about this as Isaac is, and it shows.]
[He didn't bother dignifying Derek's first comment, instead just rolling his eyes dramatically--after all, what the boys said next was a little more important. It seemed like a teasing comment at first, but Scott confirming it made his stomach squirm a little until his chest felt warm. It's hard to imagine that from where they started, they'd gotten to this point, but hell. At this point, Stiles is pretty much 1000% ready to take on the title.
The warm fuzzies are enough to have him grinning from ear to ear, and as he's shooed away, he wraps both his arms around the boys and kneels between them, tugging them in close.]
I'm an honorary liason from kid to dad. I can translate. Cheese!
[ Pausing as he turns the phone over in his hands, Derek looks over towards Isaac as he questions them-- cheekily, the brat-- before he slides his glance to Scott. He seems to be considering their words quietly for a moment, expression blank while he does. It's not particularly farfetched, if one simply thinks about it and looks back at Stiles' steadily increasing involvement in their lives. Hell, even he can't argue with it.
That's something he's going to have to assess later.
For now, he figures out Stiles' camera function on the phone, rolling his eyes and holding it up to get a good angle. ]
How appropriate. [ But that's his only comment, as he takes the picture of the three of them. ]
[Isaac grins for the picture, reaching over to pull Stiles's hat over his eyes once the picture's taken- teasingly, of course, before looking between Derek and Stiles.]
One more picture and then we'll go. Dad and Stiles!
[Scott bounces a little impatiently. He knows they'll get to trick-or-treating eventually, but that doesn't mean he isn't excited to show of his and Isaac's costumes and trick-or-treat.]
[As he fixes his hat back over his eyes, he looks down at the boys. Isaac is on his full game of conniving today. If he wasn't so damn cute it'd be really concerning.
Smiling a little lopsidedly, he steps back towards Derek, hand out for his phone.]
[ The look that Derek levels Isaac is one of his finer ones-- a mashup of exasperated, amused, and his typical frown-- before he just sighs through his nose again and shrugs his shoulders. He feels like he's being Parent Trapped right now. ]
If you put this on Facebook, we're going to have a problem.
[ But instead of giving Stiles his phone back, he calmly reaches forward to snag him by his own cloak, pulling him closer. Once within proper range, he slips his arm around Stiles' shoulders and brings him in while holding the phone out to take a picture of both of them.
[The mischievous pup laughs before darting ahead to the forest path leading to the main road and neighbourhood, beckoning for Scott to follow him. He knows that's where he should drop the teasing- he's a bit of a punk, but not stupid, and doesn't have a deathwish (or rather, a wish to turn his father into a pile of embarrassment).]
[Giggling along with Isaac, Scott follows him, holding his brother's hand. Turning a little as they hurry ahead, he grins back at the two young adults at the porch.]
Sloooowpoookes! Hey! We're gonna get there without you!
[Scott still makes Isaac wait with him before the path turns, practically wiggling with excitement. Halloween was one of the best holidays, and the fact they got to spend it as a bigger pack... that was better.]
[Stiles can't help it; at Isaac's comment, he snorts, just as the picture takes--he's laughing, pressed into Derek and grinning about a mile wide. It's a good picture, especially for the Myspace angle that it's at. The boys take off and he doesn't quite get a chance to admire it; with a crow of 'coming!', he runs off after Scott and Isaac.
[ Knowing that he doesn't have to shout after either of the boys, Derek instead focuses his attention on the camera as the picture takes. He does, however, pretend that he isn't aware of the fact that he's smiling with a bit of teeth in it before Stiles goes running off.
His pace is much more reserved as he follows after them, prepared to spend the evening watching over three kids instead of just two.
Not that he minds, but he's not going to admit to that. ]

A toll.

What kind of toll?

You're a direwolf, not a bridge troll, Stiles. Why do you have a toll, anyway?

Is a picture, so get together. And actually smile, if your dad can manage it without straining a muscle in his face. Everyone say cheese!
[Because he is not leaving this without a picture, okay.]

Of course dad can smile! He just doesn't think you're that funny.
[He giggles, meaning it innocently, and waits for Stiles to try.]
