Consider it assurance we'll survive for a long time.
[Isaac can't help but give a little grin. He's gotten used to this pack thing pretty fast- not surprising considering his age- and he and scott have both been attentive to what makes up a strong pack. This doesn't mean, of course, the two boys can't give their father grief every once in a while.]
[Scott doesn't hesitate to slip his hand into Derek's grip, still walking confidently alongside him. He's quiet for a little, almost as if contemplative- but Scott is also prone to these little spells of quiet, too. He's excited to be trick-or-treating as a pack- as a four person pack, with more secretly-pack-mates along in the mix. It was going to be wonderful, he could tell, and all because they were together.
For a few more moments, he's simply quiet, trying to emulate the way Derek walks.]
[Stiles can't help but grin at Isaac's comment; it's great when his mafiosi ways aren't directed at him. Plus, the kid is hilarious. He glances down at his phone as the boys start walking, clicking to the picture.
It's perfect; they both look like idiots, and it's Myspace worthy for the ridiculous angle, but it's perfect. Lagging behind a little, Stiles tries to hide his grin and sets the background of his phone to the picture, staring at it for a minute before jogging to catch up with the boys.
As they come across the main road, alight with trick or treaters and jack o'lanterns, Stiles pauses across the main road and offers his hand to Isaac, standing on the outside.]
Alright. Attack Plan Get An Actual Mountain's Worth of Candy is a go. Just gotta cross the street first.
[ Derek doesn't verbally reply to Isaac's comment, despite the sassing that he's getting up to. It's not new, nor is the grief that he's being given tonight, but it's not just their pushiness that guarantees they'll be around a long time. He reaches to touch the back of Isaac's head with his free hand, ruffling a little at his curls before focusing on their walk.
In his other hand, he gently squeezes Scott's, stride even but a little slower so that Scott can match him.
He slows to a stop at the street, huffing softly. ]
[Not that he's even very big on eating candy- but the idea of a sort of win is nice. He extends his free hand to Scott, smiling just a little, as if they're doing some sort of parent-appeasing ritual. He's a bit snarky about it, a 'royalty make-believe' look on his face as he gives Scott a little bow.]
[Scott returns Isaac's face with a giggle, taking Isaac's hand and lifting it just a little before offering his own little bow. Rolling his eyes and dropping their hands, he looks out toward the street as they wait.]
[Stiles grins at their antics--seriously, how cute are these kids? They make up for all the energy that their stoic dad lacks. (Or hides.) Keeping a tight grip on Isaac's hand, he makes an exaggerated movement of looking both ways across the large street before taking his first step forward.]
You guys know I can't ignore a challenge like that. Biggest mountains on the street. On the block.
[ Derek rolls his eyes at his sons, though there's a fond twinge to it and the way a muscle in his cheek twitches, as if he's trying not to smile at them. He offers a brief glance both ways as Stiles does, though is observing everything he can as he does, before he steps out along with the honorary dad. ]
[For some reason, Isaac's mischief is ten times better when it's focused on someone else. Especially Derek. Grinning like a bobcat hyena, he squeezes Isaac's hand, turning his attention right onto Derek.]
[ Derek resists the urge to do one of his own full-head eyerolls, jaw working a little as his little mafiosi son schemes more and more against him and Scott becomes his accomplice in giving him grief.
He doesn't need to look at Stiles to know the look on his face. ]
So, now I've just got to win over Isaac. [He already knows that's pretty much an impossible task--Erica will always be his favorite. But Isaac likes him, and Scott adores him. So ha.
As they finish crossing the street, he lets go of Isaac's hand, grinning across the line of werewolves beside him.]
[ At least Scott didn't hop on board the Pick On Dad train this time. Derek looks down at Isaac with a level expression, though there's no bite behind it. His eyes track back to Scott, giving his hand a brief squeeze of praise. Good boy.
Stiles, however, gets an eyeroll before he surveys the neighborhood. ]
Okay, okay, okay. Fiiine. Since you don't trust me, I'm going to entrust you with the almighty map......Isaac! [Looking between them, he grins and then passes the map to Isaac like it's a holy grail. Because it kind of is.]
First we're going up the hill, to hit all those houses. And then we'll meet up with Lydia and Allison at the top. Sound good?
[ Derek's steps visibly falter the moment Isaac pulls out the Daddy Card, but he tries very hard to pass it off as nothing, even if something pulls at the corner of his expression.
Damnit.
But giving Isaac something constructive to do is always the best route to go, so he sends Stiles a slight look of approval before he releases Scott's hand to let him follow his brother and Honorary Dad. ]

You're just happy cos Stiles came with us.
