[Stiles is much less cool about it. He literally bursts into laughter and buries his head in Derek's shoulder to try and smother it. Oh my God. When the murderdad is hilarious, it's generally one of Stiles' favorite things in the world. Especially when it comes back to Jackass.]
Pheww-- [Jesus.] For the record, I'm an expert at it.
[God, Stiles is weird. Some things never change. He's still as weird as he was in high school.
Just pursing her lips at him and the general shenanigans of the Murderpup Clan, Lydia turns with Jackson in a flip of her perfect hair.]
God knows he never shuts up.
[It's at least a little affectionate. Sure, he's weird, but he's also smart. And Lydia does enjoy his sense of humor, occasionally. When he's not being the king of losertown. She curls her fingers under Jackson's, starting her Power Female walk ahead.]
[Allison, meanwhile, squeezes Scott's hand, a little clueless and wanting to be let on the joke. Instead, she smiles and shifts her bow over her shoulder, starting to walk with him, too.]
[ Danny is with Allison on this particular moment, although he goes from giving Isaac a funny look to rolling his eyes at the Hale family, plus one. Part of him wants to know, but the rest is just going jeez.
Rather than question it, though, he reaches and tugs on Isaac's sleeve to get him moving after Allison and Scott. ]
[ The look on Jackson's face practically yells that he thinks they're all a little unstable, and infinite amounts of weird, but he just scoffs and tips his head towards Lydia. He's gotten to the point where he can tolerate Stiles, but at the same time...
God, it's Stiles. ]
Could've fooled me with all that flailing you do.
[ Though he's noticed there's been a slight lack of it since his arrival. Weird. Whatever, he just snorts softly at Lydia and lets her take the lead, falling into step with her. ]
[ Pleased with himself for getting his sons and Stiles all to laugh at Jackson's expense-- please, he can posture and act like an alpha all he wants, but even if he was a wolf Derek would still pin him into submission without breaking a sweat-- he just smirks placidly at the confused looks being sent towards them.
As everyone starts moving, though, he nudges his shoulder a little where Stiles is attached. ]
[Right, moving. Tearing himself away from Derek's shoulder--and really, it was a tear, he pretty much could have stayed there all night. Some days it was harder to push away his stupid little crush and today it had been downright impossible.
Anyway. Pushing forward, Stiles puts his other hand in his pocket and shooes Isaac forward with the map and a "lead the way!", he merrily shoots Jackson a not so nice gesture and adjusts his hat with one hand, following along.]
[Lydia does, however, let Isaac run in front of her in order to lead her troupe. She's got a quiet fondness for kids, especially now that they've gotten older, and really, 2 kids (a boy and a girl, obviously) were a part of her life plan. Trick or treating and seeing Jackson's fathering instincts come out?
Well there was definitely nothing wrong with that, either. She gives Jackson's arm a gentle squeeze as they make their way up to the first house.]
[Allison giggles appropriately at the joke--her Uncle Jackson's a little weird sometimes, but he's never been rude to her. (In fact he's probably her favorite uncle.)
Even so, she reaches for Scott's hand to hold it shyly.]
[ It's a bad sign when he doesn't want Stiles to move away, but Derek simply holds back the urge to reach and pull him to his side again. Not in front of the boys-- who would give him smug looks-- or the rest of their newly gained posse. No, he'll wait until later for that.
He still walks close, though, shoulder and arm brushing Stiles' with what is almost every other step. ]
[ It's an immediate command, though there's no sharpness to his voice as Jackson gives it. His eyes are tracking Danny the most, with Allison a close second, but he keeps watch of the Hale boys, too. As they've gotten older, and he became Danny's godfather and uncle, he's...
Well, that fondness for kids isn't just on Lydia's end, as much as he tries to act aloof about it.
He brushes his thumb across her knuckles gently as the kids head up towards the house, the corner of his mouth twitching a little as if he's trying to keep a straight face. ]
I have an awesome sense of direction, thanks. And if I don't, I can always count on Scott. [Grinning, he reaches forward to ruffle Scott's hair between his fingers, muttering a "go get her, tiger!" quiet enough for only the lycanthropes among them to hear before pulling back.
Ah, young love.]
Get me some sour patch kids!
skips lydia because she's probably just rolling her eyes
[ Danny just grins at Isaac, doubting that he'd get them lost on Halloween. Not when there's so much candy to be had. Once they're at the door, though, he readjusts his tie before holds out his bag and echos Allison with a trick-or-treat! of his own. ]
[ For a moment, as the kids all go up to receive their candy and praise, Derek has to consider Stiles. All of Beacon Hills is considered Hale territory, as well as some of the reserve that makes up the area around legal Hale property. If he ever got lost anywhere in it now? ]
If you got lost, we'd find you.
[ He's still looking ahead towards the house, calm and quiet as he says it. ]
[Isaac rolls his eyes at Stiles's comment to his brother, but nonetheless shoves Scott away from him and toward Allison and stands at Danny's side, echoing the other kids's calls.]
[He says that confidently, not looking at Derek, either--the moment has a lot more weight than he's really ready to admit to himself, and he scuffs his shoe against the floor, looking at it. It's all the words he really needs, and he ruffles Scott's hair as he comes back, grinning at him and glad for the distraction.]

...It was kind of hilarious.
Covering his mouth, Isaac nearly doubles over, crossing his arms over his stomach.]

S-sorry, I just- dad-- thanks, Allison.
[Snorting as he keeps his mouth covered, Scott nearly shakes with laughter.]

Sorry. Just, remembered something, is all.
[He hurries after Allison and Scott, nudging Danny with his elbow and showing him Stiles's map.]
Stiles drew this up for us to follow. Annnd I get to keep directions because Stiles is Stiles.

[He leans over to her, whispering in her ear.
'Dad just made a joke about Mister Jackson being a jerk is all.'
He straightens up then, looking back at Isaac]
You should prooobably be up front if you're keeping directions?

Yeah, fearless leader. C'mon, up front.
[ He turns, however, and inclines his head almost secretively towards Scott and Allison. ]
Even I do that to Uncle Jackson.

He too joins in the children's chorus, thanking the parents when their treats are given, and leads the rest of the kids back, of course.]
we ought to have some sort of timeskip :|a
