[It must have been hours later when Cassie came to, because by the time she opened her eyes it was well after dark. It didn't take long to establish that her communicator wasn't working and she couldn't hail anyone over psychic link (problem number one). She'd gone down during a stealth mission in enemy territory. Not good (problem number two). And the others? No sign of 'em which meant that either they hadn't been able to find her or worse- they COULDN'T (problem number three). It might very well be up to her to make sure they were alright and to finish the mission if they weren't.
Problem number four? She couldn't fly. Whatever that blast had done to her it still had her head pounding and her vision swimming if she moved too fast. Flying was definitely out. A weary exhale broke the silence first.]
Walking it is.
[Not a great plan, but definitely her only viable option. She picked her path after figuring out which direction was which and started marching.
Things started getting weird, even by her standards, when the walking table crossed her path. But as she tried to get a closer look she took a sudden tumble down a hill side. Her rolling came to an abrupt stop as she crashed into a large rock, stifling a Greek curse. A frustrated puff of air blew some hair and leaves out of her eyes and Cassie braced her hands on the ground to push herself back up. Right in front of her was something that looked about right for a bad guy's hideout of some kind. There was a friggin' bunker just chilling inside the rock face!
Also, conveniently, the doors were open- she had no idea what that meant but she had to assume her teammates might be trapped somewhere inside. She heard the doors kicking into gear and made a split second decision, ducking quietly inside the facility and down behind some crates off to one side. Now she was getting her first proper look at it.]
Inverted 10 (There's someone sleeping in my universe!)
