[ Though he'd grown up, taking care of the children in the pack - human and werewolf alike - Derek never anticipated that he would have children of his own. Maybe when he was younger, when he had loved Paige (and then again when he had loved Kate, fleetingly) but after the fire, he figured that he wouldn't live long enough to become a father.

Stiles has changed a lot of things about his life, since they'd met. Fatherhood was another one of those things. So...

Derek figures, Stiles brought Liam into the world. Carried him for eight months, two weeks, five days, and two hours. If anyone should be getting up to take care of him, it should be him, so that she can earn back some of that sleep that she lost out on while she was dealing with a fussy pup kicking her organs and making her need to pee every ten minutes on the dot.

He knows she's there, because he could probably hear her heartbeat clear across Beacon Hills, but he doesn't respond right away. His focus remains on their baby, bundled against his shoulder and snuffling at him. Liam's sense of smell is still comparatively weak, definitely closer to that of a human's, but he knows that he's being scented right now. ]

I don't think it was a good idea for two insomniacs to reproduce. [ But there's no heat to his voice, just the heavy rumble that comes from his subvocal growl vibrating in his chest. Slowly turning, he starts ambling towards Stiles, lips brushing his son's forehead. ]
