[Karasuno's been off the radar for a few years so it makes sense that their festivals have been a largely in house event for a while. This year, however, is apparently going to change that.

It figures this is also the year Daichi--along with a few other sports team captains--got roped into working a kissing booth to help support renovations to the club rooms. The original proposition was for it to be the managers but Daichi wasn't going to see Kiyoko or Yachi doing this. It's been a fairly uneventful day so far, mostly teammates coming over to give their captains a hard time and a few actual patrons who've been either shy and giggling or polite and straightforward.

And then he sees Oikawa approaching. Why Seijoh's captain is here, he can't say, but somehow, Daichi's fairly certain neither of those things--shy or straightforward--will apply here.]

Only if you don't go here, otherwise it's been on the bulletin board for weeks.

Is that so?

[ he grins, properly stepping into the booth's designated area. it's the first time he's seen the other boy off the court and oikawa's pleased to note that he seems to be just as impervious to jostling as he is before a match. not that he'd come with those intentions, of course, because he was simply trying to have a friendly conversation~ ]

What an unexpectedly bold move from you, Sawamura-kun! I'd never have pegged you as the sort to advertise this sort of thing.

[ he'd always gotten a more serious vibe from daichi, after all, given how good he seemed to be at wrangling the noisier members of karasuno. ]

It wasn't me advertising it.

[He digs behind the booth for a second to pull out a copy of the flyer. It's a big 11" x 17" page with pictures for many of the clubs on it, but the one for the volleyball club features his and the basketball captain's faces in particular.]

The basketball team are the ones who made sure it got advertised. I guess they're still a little bitter about the detention.

[Daichi tucks the poster back away before Oikawa can look at it too closely, though. It's been hard enough having the entire school see him advertised like that, let alone someone from a rival school. He leans on the booth, perfectly happy to continue having a conversation. The customers aren't exactly knocking each other down to get up here yet.]

If you didn't know about it, though, what brings you by?

They sure picked a unique way to get their revenge.

[ oikawa, who'd already leaned in to get a closer look at the flyer, decides to rest an arm against the structure of the booth to support himself. although daichi had made sure he could only catch a quick glance at the pictures, what he'd seen was enough to make his grin widen. that and the discovery of daichi working at a kissing booth might've made this trip worth it. which, speaking of— ]

Would you believe me if I said I was just in the neighbourhood? Our prefecture's not that big after all.

[ he doesn't seem to worried about the thought of the other captain calling him out about it. ]

And since I was around, I thought the least I could do was check out all the hard work everyone put in!

One embarrassment turns into another.

[Because in the end he may have gotten a talking to but he also won that race, OK, so there. Daichi stands up a little taller when Oikawa leans on the booth because hey now, that's paying customer territory. Not that there are a lot of them right now, though...]

I don't have a lot of choice but to believe you, even if it does seem like a pretty slim coincidence.

[Still, seeing a familiar face who isn't a teammate isn't the worst thing that could happen today. Unless Oikawa whips out his cell phone for a bunch of pictures.

Daichi's not going to give him any ideas.]
