paging one little mermeid
PART OF YOUR WOOOORLLLLD
that is, until someone does.
look, mei prides himself on his beautiful singing voice and his expertise, so when someone is able to walk away from him he is not having it. this sailor's ship had wrecked, which meant even easier pickings for mei, who had been the one to lure the captain to throw the whole thing off in the first place. unfortunately, the sailor is not only unaffected, he is basically ignoring his great singing and beautiful everything, which is terrible and not allowed.
mei's on the beach to the closest island now, watching the sailor--who he's taken to calling masa-san--do...something. he doesn't know. he's not really cared what humans did up until this point, unless it ended up with them in his clutches, but here he is, watching him. mei's up so his tail is in the surf, lying on his stomach on the shore, chin propped in his hand.
one more try, then: the first couple had to have been a fluke. clearing his throat (pretty obviously) he singsongs-- ] Masa-san~ [ in his best, prettiest tone, lifting up his typically mesmerizing golden tail to try and get his attention. ]
no subject
And this is the siren who now seems to think he can be lured back into the water despite being comfortable on land (or as comfortable as he can be with scratches down the length of his calves care of this same siren). He's not sure what it is that makes him immune to the lure of the siren's song. Harada's fairly sure it's something about his own personality, but he's tempted to attribute it to the siren's ineffectiveness.
He glances at the water's edge every now and then, but of greater concern right now is building a fire. He's built a little pyramid of branches and sun-dried seaweed for an easy catch, but the most likely place to find the kind of stone he needs to get a spark is, unfortunately, at or below the water's edge.
When the siren calls his name again, well, this time is seems to work a little. Harada stands and starts to walk toward the siren, looking curiously past his face at his tail.]
How did you learn my name, anyway?
no subject
his gaze flicks to the pyramid on the shore, and for a minute, he briefly considers splashing it--but the alluring promise of victory steals his attention utterly and completely and mei flicks his tail up so it shimmers nicely in the sunshine. ineffective? ha! mei's never been ineffective a day in his life!!
(until right now.) ]
I know all kinds of things. [ he simpers, tone still a dangerous lull, smirk on his face up a notch or three with every step closer, and mei even bats his eyelashes. honestly. ] I'm magic, remember~? Come a little closer, I'll show you exactly how much I know about you, Ma-sa-san!
no subject
If it's just something like a name, you can show me from there. Maybe that's why this isn't working, though. I don't believe in magic.
[And with that he turns and starts walking away. It's the only choice, really. He could feel the tug of the siren's voice when he sang his name again and he needs distance to resist it, but he also still needs to start looking for a stone. He does his best not to betray his intentions, though; if Mei knows he's heading for the water, Harada's not sure he'd be fast enough to outmaneuver him.]

it was an extra surprise! <3 - me, a month later
gimme the cutest prince in tokyo (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
it means that suga doesn't have to trek all the way down to midas just to see him!! and it also means that suga has granted himself full liberty to let himself in and out of mei's room whenever he pleases. (which only seems fair, considering that he keeps falling asleep snuggled up to miyuki and waking up to find that mei has smushed himself between them in the middle of the night, draped all over both of them with arms and legs akimbo.) and this is one of the rare mornings where he's actually beaten both of them awake, sooo...
suga creeps into mei's room with all the latent ninja skills he possesses, grinning at the sight of him sprawled out on the mattress on his stomach. carefully, carefully... he creeps into bed with him, working his way until he's able to lean down over him. then he slides his hands up the t-shirt that mei sleeps in, whispering the faintest touch of his fingernails up mei's back, and purrs into his ear. ]
Meeeeeeiiiiiiiii. Wake up, lazybones. [ pot, meet kettle. ]
done and done ♥
so he greatly enjoys his chances to sleep in when he gets them. since he's living here without paying any rent, mei's fully committed to his house-crasher lifestyle and is living it up by skipping out on his morning runs on saturdays in favor of this. passed out asleep in his pjs on a pile of pillows, probably drooling a little on the pillowcases.
he's so out cold that he doesn't really notice koushi's fingers at first, but the voice in his ear makes him stir. hmm... sounds nice... maybe he's having a really nice dream. ]
Mmmrhm. [ comes his grunt of an answer as he semi processes what's been said and mei arches a little up against those fingertips when they come over his skin. it feels nice, too, and he rubs his cheek into his pillow. ] 've minutes.
♥ ♥ ♥
mullethair at the nape of his neck so that he can trail a series of little kisses down his spine. ]It's already almost noon. [ but... the little arch of mei's back is enough of a request, so. suga slides his hands back down again, the same gentle pressure as before. ] You'll end up sleeping the whole day away, at this rate.
no subject
but he's feeling decadent and lazy, so, nah. noon sounds just fine to mei. he snakes an arm up from where it's settled near the pillows and decides to sling it around koushi, instead, applying enough pressure to hopefully get him to flop down too. ]
Nnnope. [ he hums, and promptly hooks around the other warm body now in his bed. hello~ ] Sleep with me, then.

literally six months later
the littlest pink
hello :3c i hope college au works...
it's hard work, being a student. it might be a little easier if he wasn't an honor student athlete, but haruichi has never settled for anything less than perfection in every avenue and his schoolwork is no different than those. sure, chances are he might get drafted out of university at any time, but there's no way he's not going to finish his schoolwork, no matter how hard organic chemistry it is.
organic chemistry is in fact scarier than any player haruichi has ever played. no matter how hard he studies, it feels like the tests are rigged, and receiving another low mark (it's a C, haruichi) has left him in a pretty bad mood. combine that with getting caught outside in blizzard snow conditions when he'd left his small off campus apartment with a light jacket, and haruichi's downright grumpy, pushing his bangs out of his face as he makes his way not to his own apartment, but upstairs, to the apartment marked "maezono".
haruichi's lived underneath maezono kenta for two months now, and he knows for a fact that maezono kenta has a very, very cute dog. he's really big and fluffy and loves kisses and haruichi needs that right now, some cuddles and kisses from a dog.
(or some cuddles and kisses from maezono, but he's kept those feelings secret since the first day he'd seen him lifting his boxes into his apartment.)
so, it's probably a little weird, a stranger in a middle of a blizzard, but haruichi knows they've at least made eye contact in the staircase and he really needs some tlc, so he gives up on any of his shyness and knocks on his door.
hopefully maezono is at least there. ]
literally always; also jenn's were cute but i love this face
He does, however, have to deal with it getting into Kouta's fur, so their trip out was short. He didn't want to be out there any more than Kenta did and now they're curled up inside. Or rather, Kenta is, deep in his intro to mathematic computing textbook. Kouta is on the floor with his rope chew toy, completely in bliss, right up until he's not. Kenta looks up when he hears the skitter of claws on the laminate.
He got a dog that looks menacing with the idea that it'd keep people from messing with his apartment and instead ended up with a dog that wants to be friends with the entire building. He seems to have a particular soft spot for their downstairs neighbor, though, and Kenta can't really blame him. Kominato's quiet, tolerant of Kouta's tendency to lose his mind over squirrels, and his smile when he sees Kouta is a thing to behold.
Kenta follows Kouta, intending to tug him back from the door, but as soon as he gets there he hears a knock. His ears go warm when he looks through the peephole; telepathy is movie stuff but he's never hoped so quite as much as he does right now. He doesn't hesitate to open the door, though. Kominato looks cold and wet and even if he didn't think he was kind of cute, Kenta wouldn't be able to turn him away.
He does get a leg in front of Kouta before he opens the door, though.]
Kominato, are you all--KOUTA!
[The leg is fruitless because when Kouta sees his very favorite person other than the one who feeds him, he wiggles underneath Kenta's leg and starts bumping against Kominato's.]
Ah, I'm sorry about him. Kouta. Sit.
[Nope.]
THIS GIANT FLUFF
the door opens and haruichi feels a twist of warmth in his chest, even with his frozen fingers and his hair dusty pink and damp from the snow, flakes sticking to his face and too cold cheeks. he can't help but break into a smile at the sight of him, a little one that dimples his cheek, but then kouta breaks out from behind zono and haruichi bursts out into a full out grin.
almost immediately, he drops down to his knees and greets him with a hi, Kouta, burying his cold fingers in his fur. any regrets he might have had about knocking disappear in an instant as he ruffles his fingers up to his face and picks it up to give him a kiss on the nose. once he's gotten the prerequisite dog cuddling in, he looks up, eyes still shining a little, and then flushes at the reminder that he did drop in sort of unexpectedly. ] Um, hi, Zono-san. I hope I wasn't interrupting anything...
[ he gives kouta another ruffle from where he's squatting down, to keep him from hopefully knocking him over on his back into the snow. ] Are you busy?
[ hopefully not; haruichi's day started getting better the moment zono opened the door. ]

because why not
At first the opposing team had been fucking difficult, possessed of unnatural skill and unnatural strength with which they’d scored multiple homeruns off of Sanada’s own pitches, and if that wasn’t enough, somewhere in the fourth inning one of the infielders had tried to…bite Mishima.
Sanada had just barely yanked Raichi off the plate when the opposing catcher had tried for his brains when the coach was already yelling at them to get the hell out of there as their team dropped their bats (bad idea; Sanada still held on to his, if only to fight those guys off) and ran off to the dugout. In all the confusion he and Raichi had not been able to get out of the stadium before it was overrun with zombified players who were quickly infecting everything they could grab onto. And with that unnatural strength and speed…
They’re already being backed into the bleachers as Sanada’s swinging his bat to fend off their attackers, trying to buy Raichi some time to climb up to safety. ]
This is bad. [ he manages, his grin in place albeit strained, given what they’re going through. ] Raichi! Are you up yet?
[ He can’t look— ]
kicks down the door

well, sort of. eijun had caused a little bit of trouble, maybe. maybe she got into it with one of the cooks who was being disrespectful to one of the other maids. maybe she had to jump out of a window, but when she did, miyuki was there.
so they've traveled together since then, three weeks of spending time together, and it's been pretty nice. eijun's supposed to go back to work tomorrow now that she has a new job, so for the last day she's spending with miyuki, they've decided to attend the in town festival.
(or, well. eijun decided. miyuki's getting dragged along.)
she's holding both of his hands when she spots the dance going on in the castle square, and there's no escaping now. beaming up at him like he hung the stars in the sky, eijun turns around and starts tugging. ] C'mon, c'mon! Let's go dance--don't be such a stick in the mud!
!!!!
Sure, whisking her away and off onto some wild adventure that had been unplanned had turned out to be... great, actually. They saw all kinds of sights, got into all kinds of trouble, making a circuit through the kingdom until they made their way back home. But they couldn't stay away forever - they both have their responsibilities to deal with, and family to return to. Even if Miyuki's is full of fewer people than Eijun's.
But over these past three weeks, even Miyuki will admit that maybe there's something more than amused fondness for Eijun. Feelings are fairly complicated in general, but made worse by just who they are, together and separately.
A maid that works in the castle, and a princess masquerading as a man.
Kazuha smiles indulgently as she lets Eijun drag her along, drag him along, as far as Eijun knows. ] I'm not being a stick in the mud. I'm just worried about you stepping on my feet.

I can't believe this is happening
gleeful, manic laughter
he likes to pretend he can, but when it came to his best friend, haruichi was ( as his big brother frequently reminded him ) weak. so it makes sense that when he first meets a harried PA with big brown puppy eyes that haruichi would end up crushing on him within a month or so.
but how could he help it? tadano-kun is so sweet (and so stressed), and he tells jokes that sometimes are kind of lame, but in a funny way, and haruichi likes him a lot. so, it made sense to start hanging out with him outside of seeing him at work, serving him his coffee order (and his boss's: triple shot caramel cookie mocha with extra whipped cream). he hasn't been able to stop thinking about him all day, which is why it's almost ironic that when he's pulling his messenger bag over his shoulder and scurrying out for the day that he runs almost face first into his chest. ] Oof--
[ haruichi stumbles back a little, then looks up, his pink eyes wide in surprise, cheeks flushing from his own impoliteness. ] Tadano-kun! [ and his heart gives a little jump at it, too. ] I'm sorry, area you okay?
rubs hands together
The only thing that's keeping him going, really, is all the coffee that he's downing. That's definitely not healthy and he knows it, but it's either that or sleep. And with all of the work that Mei's been giving him for years, there's... there's not really any time for sleep. It'd probably all be easier for him if he didn't have an unrequited crush the size of Honshu on his boss, and it would maybe be even better if his boss wasn't entirely aware of this.
... but, recently, that crush has been dwindling. Faster and faster, with every passing day that he goes to the coffee shop to get their daily orders. And when he goes there to find some peace and quiet to work in. And when he spends time with the cute barista outside of the coffee shop.
Kominato Haruichi is sweet, and caring, and friendly, and laughs at his lame jokes even when they're lame, and he's really cute.
And also short enough that he bounces off his chest, when both of them aren't watching where they're going. Itsuki is thankful his things are in his satchel, because he can reach out for his shoulders so he can steady him, immediately sheepish and apologetic. ] I'm okay - sorry, Kominato-kun, I should've looked first -
hell is real
it's undeniable that once he's figured out itsuki's okay that he lights up a little, too. ] It's okay! I wasn't watching where I was going, it was my fault too.
[ still, he's about to leave for the day--with aching feet and a bit of a headache, really looking forward to his DS and his bed--but itsuki's face gives him pause, and he ends up taking a step back. ] You're a little later than usual, is everything okay?
hell is cozy

it's been this way as long as she can remember (although maybe she can't remember that much): she used to poke her head up above the ocean and watch the ships sail by. her father always warned her it was unsafe, her best friend would try to catch her tailfin to keep her from going up to far, but she couldn't stop.
there was something drawing her there. she found that thing when she was ten years old: another girl, who lived on the shore. there was something about her that felt so familiar mari wasn't about to let it go, and ignoring her family's wishes, she made her way to the shore to watch her, settling in a rocky outcropping and keeping her head hidden, always just a little shy.
there was something about the girl--kanan, as mari knew now--that was a little standoffish. but mari was stubborn at twelve and she's still stubborn at seventeen, which is why she pushes herself up onto a large rock and lets her pretty, golden and aqua tail fan out nicely over the rock when she knows kanan's going to come by to take care of her family's boat.
she casually pushes some of her wet hair over her shoulder, and smiles when she spots the familiar figure making her way down the dock. hopefully she won't just turn around--mari's willing to chase. ] Ka~nan!
[ she's willing to chase because she refuses to let go of that familiarity. she doesn't know why she's supposed to know kanan--but she just knows. ]
