but the best story that i have ever told

The Fairytale Meme
How it works:
1. pick a fairy tale
2. au our characters into it somehow, along the guidelines or not.
3. ignore the fact i shamelessly reposted this meme from three years ago
4. have good threads!

1. ALADDIN The classic rags to riches story. One's royalty, and one's not, and they'll do anything to win the heart of their beloved--or at least besotted--even if it means pretend to be rich.
2. SLEEPING BEAUTY A character has been cursed, doomed to sleep forever. Only true love's kiss can wake them up.
3. ALICE IN WONDERLAND Things have gotten curioser and curioser, as a character's transported deep into a magic land where things aren't quite what they seem. A magical court, a reigning queen, talking animals--whatever you have it, you think you probably need to get out of this place and back home. But will your partner help you or harm you?
4. THE LITTLE MERMAID You're a mermaid, for whichever reason. Falling in love with people who have legs is such a chore, but sometimes love requires sacrifice.
5. CINDERELLA. You've been searching for your true love for years, in hopes to rediscover them after a magical night. Will you thread the night itself, or perhaps the reunion--or anything in between?
6. SNOW WHITE Living in the forest is not so bad when you make friends. You hope someday your prince will come. Preferrably before someone realizes you're the fairest of them all and tries to kill you. At least that true love's kiss comes in handy!
7. THE FROG PRINCE Someone was once a handsome prince(ss) and they've been turned into an animal. True love's kiss, again, conquers all, so you better get to hopping. (Or leaping, or slithering...)
8. RAPUNZEL Rapunzellll! Let down your haiiiir! Being cooped up in a castle for all of your life has given you quite the sense of adventure, so why not let the person knocking on your door in? It must be safe, right? Right?
9. LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD Grandmother warned you not to go walking in those spooky old woods alone, but you did it anyway. With a wolf on your heels, you better start hoping the wolf is kinder than you think--or if not, that you'll run into a kind huntsman to help save the day. Or, even if not that, you'll rely on your powers of badassery to beat the wolf yourself!
10. GOLDILOCKS & THE THREE BEARS Someone's sleeping in your bed! Kick them out, let them stay. I'm not judging.c
11. TARZAN Someone isn't what you'd maybe call a functioning human being. But that's alright--being raised by monkeys (or wolves, or what have you) isn't a reason not to try and understand them. In fact, maybe you're intrigued by the way they look at life. They could certainly teach you as much as you taught them.
12. PINOCCHIO You're a real boy! Whether you were a puppet or a robot, something--and who only knows what--has turned you into a human. Maybe it was just the love of your creator. Maybe it was a little fairy. Who knows.
13. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Hope you like your prince/sses furry.
14. OTHER. Seriously, knock yourself out.

Feel free to ignore the prompts completely and just use the name of the fairy tale--twisted fairytales, once upon a time style fairy tales...everything is fair game. also half of you are monsterfuckers so i expect this to get nsfw

[ Being the unassuming person that he looks like, Akira has surprised more than one person with his curiosity, nevermind his stubbornness. So when he comes across the strangely pristine, not at all derelict, abandoned house... well, color him curious as hell.

Could this be considered breaking and entering? Oh, probably. (Definitely.) But he spends his time exploring the rooms, one by one, and testing the furniture he comes across. The couch could use some love and beating into shape, but he settles in on it, regardless, in a lazy sprawl. Drops face-first into the bed, thankful for the lack of dust when no cloud of it comes shooting up. But if he can find shelter here when he's got someone on his tail, then.

Well, he doesn't mind at all.

But the shuffling catches his attention. Akira rolls over and plucks his glasses up when he hears it, sliding them back on and... going to immediately investigate. The feathers are an interesting clue, and he picks one up to squint at.

His gaze lifts back up, though, because there must be more to this than feathers. He moves to follow the path left for him.

[The gardens, while taken care of, are just the same as the paths that'd led him here: twisting and turning, a bush not where he expects it, but all the same it's not hard to follow the moonlit path of feathers dusting the stone.

Especially when it leads him to a figure some height taller than him, a large shadow in the light, the feathers having fallen from the creature evidently; they have the same black sheen, and a few of them drop off while he stand there too, unseen face casted at the sky. There's a sort of narrowness to what Akira can see, but for the most part it's just the same blackened feathers in his direction.

Still, the figure doesn't seem to notice him. Seem to. There's just... a sort of loneliness that seems to emanate from whatever it is.]

[ There's foliage where he doesn't expect, so of course he gets stuck in it at least once. But Akira is, again, nothing if not stubborn, so he manages to get through the path well enough. He picks up assorted feathers along the way, downy fluffy ones and sleek, dark flight feathers. As if whatever creature has left them behind is almost in molt.

The feathers should have told him the size of the creature in question, but he sees the figure and comes up short. Most normal people would go running at the sight of some mysterious being so much taller than them.

Instead, that loneliness hits something empathetic in his chest. Instead, Akira steps off the path and into the open space proper. There's probably something risky and dangerous here, but he takes the chance anyways, with a fistful of feathers.

[With the shuffle of feet against grass catching his attention, the figure turns and seems to double in size as overly large wings stretch out, blocking the view, the sky, and laying shadow across the ground; the eyes are a piercing mahogany, wary.

After a moment, he speaks, a soft trill in his words.]

You're not running away.

[It's a little curious, but still mostly guarded.]
